A BIG THANK YOU to all of our supporters

Today was a big day on our dam restoration project.

We hit our $10,000 fundraising goal.  In just one week!  Wow.  We recognize that this.is.big and we’re all so excited.  You can see how excited the dam cat is!  He had a party.

In all seriousness….From all of us at Newlin Grist Mill – THANK YOU! Thanks to you jumping in on this project. Thanks to you helping us spread the word. Thanks to you valuing a local historic site. Your outpouring of support has been amazing.

You have not only helped us hit our fundraising goal here on Indiegogo, but in other ways as well.  One little girl came to go fishing over the weekend. When she found out fishing was closed and why, she went home, held a lemonade stand, and donated all of the money that she raised.  We’ve raised over $2,000 in contributions that have been mailed to the Visitor Center. Volunteers have been doing back breaking work filling and placing sandbags (1800 placed so far.  We probably will need double that until all is said and done.)

It was a big day today because we also got water flowing back over our spillway waterfall and are on track to have fishing open this weekend. (This just depends on the dam holding overnight tonight.)

The support for this project has blown us away!

So what’s next?

*Just because we reached our $10,000 goal doesn’t mean we won’t continue to accept donations.  The project overall will cost $35,000.  All money donated towards this campaign will go towards the dam project.

*Rock the Mill Music Festival is on the horizon on June 14th.  We hope you’ll join us there.  It’s going to be a great event!

We never thought we would reach our fundraising goal in a week.  But we realized we have some wonderful dam supporters…and just wonderful supporters in general.  From all of the staff at Newlin Grist Mill (and the dam cat) – Thank you!!!
