History at Work @ Newlin Grist Mill

Get a closer look at trades of the eighteenth century in Newlin’s “History at Work” series.

Our final two demonstrations of the 2022 series will highlight cooking and baking, using receipts (recipes) from Richard Briggs’ 1788 book, The English Art of Cookery.
  • October 29th – at the Bake Oven behind the Miller’s House, with Programs Manager Laura Adie.
  • November 19th – in the Trimble House kitchen with Laura and special guest food historian Marc Meltonville, who is currently writing a book on Richard Briggs!

“History at Work” is free and open to the public of all ages.
