Explore history through your taste-buds! Participants will enjoy a five-course dinner with accompanying drinks while learning about the culinary traditions of the past.

Since it will be taking place shortly after the coronation of King Charles III, this year’s “Tasting Through Time” will explore some of the dishes that were served at the coronation dinner for King James II of England. He was crowned in 1685, as the Newlin family was getting settled here in Pennsylvania.

We won’t be serving quite the number of dishes that the original coronation feast had – over a hundred laid out on the table for the first course alone! – but the 5-course menu of small plates paired with historically-inspired beverages will still be fit for royalty!

This is a fundraising event to support the restoration of the 1739 Trimble House kitchen & pantry at Newlin Grist Mill.
