Summer Discovery

Due to the continuing concerns around COVID-19, the onsite camps for 2020 Summer Discovery at Newlin Grist Mill have been cancelled.

Join us for 2020 Virtual Summer Discovery!

Since we can’t hold camp in-person this summer, we’ve pulled together a really great mix of activities for an online camp experience, based on parent feedback and lessons that were popular with campers in previous years. We are using a combination of platforms and focusing on activities that use simple household materials, so your family will be able to participate easily.

  • Zoom Lives (Tuesdays at 3pm) – We will gather via Zoom to meet live animals, explore science and history, try tasty recipes, and share our experiences. All Zoom meetings will last roughly 30 minutes and be recorded, then sent via email for those families that are unable to sign in at the designated time.

  • Weekly At-Home Activities – These activities will be sent as PDFs or slideshows via email, and are designed for campers to work on at their own pace at home. This category focuses on art projects, outdoor explorations, and longer activities that can be done at the camper’s own pace.

  • Summer Discovery Facebook Group – This group is designed to be a forum and gathering place for campers and their families. We will be sharing weekly coloring sheets, pictures from around the park, scavenger hunts, and other fun interactive activities.

Camp activities will run for 10 weeks, starting the week of June 15th. Register by the week for $10 each, or sign up for all 10 weeks at a discounted rate of $75. Open to children ages 4-12.

You can find a description of all our planned activities HERE.
