Newlin Grist Mill offers unique and rewarding volunteer opportunities for people of all ages, interests, and commitment levels. Our volunteers can satisfy their diverse interests by helping in areas such as archaeology, special events, and natural resources. Task-based projects that have a clear beginning and end are ideal if you want to make a difference but have limited availability. We have seasonal volunteers who work together staffing the Visitor Center, leading interpretive tours of Newlin Grist Mill’s historic buildings, and demonstrating the craft of blacksmithing. These are perfect if you are looking for a more consistent schedule. Newlin Grist Mill welcomes individuals, student groups, scouts, and business organizations. Help us preserve history and nature at this distinctive site.
Please note: At this time, we are limiting the volunteer program to our existing volunteers and special scheduled outdoor workdays (such as our upcoming “Earth Month” programs). We will reopen the program to new volunteers when we are able to safely conduct in-person orientation and training. Thank you for your understanding.
